Top Ten Tuesday

Each week, The Broke and Bookish host a Top Ten List based on a certain bookish topic. Other bloggers are able to participate and post their own top ten list based on the topic.
This week’s topic is Top Ten Books I would love to read again for the first time.
1. The Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling
Let’s just get the obvious ones over with, okay? Who wouldn’t want to experience the magic of Harry Potter all over again? Rereading this series is still amazing and I constantly find things I missed originally but…there’s nothing like the first time.
2. Anything and everything by Tamora Pierce
I love this woman so much. I love her and every single one of her books. I would give anything to read these books all over again. Her characters and her stories are phenomenal and inspiring and really, really stick with you.
3. Anything and everything by Meg Cabot
I mean, DUH. I’ve read almost of all of Meg Cabot’s books and I wish I could just read them over and over again.
4. Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins.
UH, YEAH. Although I’ve only read it once, so I bet there’s so much awesome I missed. I’ll have to reread it soon for sure. And Lola and the Boy Next Door, too. I’ve only read that once, and let me just say – once is not enough!
5. Time Enough for Drums by Ann Rinaldi
As far as historical fiction goes, this is my favourite historical fiction book of ALL TIME. I love most of Ann Rinaldi’s books but this is the one that I’ve read over and over again, and it would be amazing if I could start it for the first time again.
6. SWEEP series by Cate Tiernan
Probably started my love of witches. This series is quick and fun and dark and I love it so much. I don’t know that any witchy book I ever read will come close to this awesome series.
7. Twenty Boy Summer by Sarah Ockler
BREAKS MY HEART. EVERY TIME. Seriously, this book and Sarah Ockler are basically at the top of my favourite contemp list. As gutwrenching as it would be, I love to experience it all over again.
8. Georgia Nicolson series by Louise Rennsion
AH I love this series so much. Louise Rennison is HILARIOUS. I’d love to experience Georgia’s adventures again for the first time.
9. Blood Red Road by Moira Young
One of my favourite books this year. Such an epic and unexpected favourite of mine and I can’t wait until I get to a point where I can reread it.
10. Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead
So much love for this series! I didn’t expect to love this series at all (so not a vampire fan) but Richelle Mead sucked me in and I wish I could go back and start all over again, even though I read it for the first time less than a year ago.

Blood Red Road is on my TBR pile and I hope to get to it soon. I have all of your books in my library, though I haven’t read most of them.

I had Harry Potter on my list, too. Tamora Pierce almost made it, but I ended up going with Christine Feehan instead (my list tied ‘first times’ in life to ‘first times’ in books and both authors represented the same thing). Anyway, great list! :)

Harry Potter series = super popular, oh, and also on my list. :) I totally agree about Meg Cabot! I especially wish I could read Avalon High over again; it’s my favorite book by her. :)

Yay for Harry Potter and the Vampire Academy! I still need to read Twenty Boy Summer, Blood Red Road, and Anna and the French Kiss (please don’t hit me over that last one).

I definitely agree with Harry Potter and Tamora Pierce, both of which made an appearance on my list this week :)

Oh I would love to read Anna again for the first time. That book rocked my contemp world.

Oooh, Blood Red Road. I have that on my TBR. If it’s that good then maybe I’ll move it up in the list.
Haven’t read anything by Tamora Pierce either but if she gets an “anything and everything” then I’m super curious to check her books out.
Great list!

Anna and the French Kiss and Twenty Boy Summer are definitely worth spending time to reread. I love the Vampire Academy series. But since I don’t paranormal romance novels anymore, I still think this series rocks. Great picks. Thank you for sharing.
