Interview: In Honor by Jessi Kirby

I had the extreme pleasure to read In Honor by Jessi Kirby a few months ago and it was unbelievably AMAZING. Truly, truly amazing. I’m super stoked to share with you guys a quick interview I did with the main character of In Honor, Honor herself! Be sure to check it out and go buy this book when it hits stores – definitely not one to miss!

Amazon | Goodreads | Author Website | Author Twitter A devastating loss leads to an unexpected road trip in this novel from the author of Moonglass, whose voice Sarah Dessen says “is fresh and wise, all at once.”Hours after her brother’s military funeral, Honor opens the last letter Finn ever sent. In her grief, she interprets his note as a final request and spontaneously decides to go to California to fulfill it.
Honor gets as far as the driveway before running into Rusty, Finn’s best friend since third grade and his polar opposite. She hasn’t seen Rusty in ages, but it’s obvious he is as arrogant and stubborn as ever—not to mention drop-dead gorgeous. Despite Honor’s better judgment, the two set off together on a voyage from Texas to California. Along the way, they find small and sometimes surprising ways to ease their shared loss and honor Finn’s memory—but when shocking truths are revealed at the end of the road, will either of them be able to cope with the consequences? – Goodreads
An interview with Honor, from In Honor
Describe yourself in three words. Now describe Rusty.
Me: Brave, scared, hopeful
Rusty: Cocky, loyal, melty
You could go anywhere right now. Where would you go and what would you do?
I’d take Rusty back to that place by the river in Sedona, and this time I’d jump off that rope swing.
Would you say the sunrise diving trip is on your top five moments list? What’s your number one moment, if you care to share?
That diving trip will probably be one of the top five moments of my life! But the number one? Well, it involves a kiss. One that was a long time coming.
What is your biggest regret?
Not being able to thank my brother for all he did for me.
Where do you see yourself in three years?
Hopefully near graduating college, getting ready to do something that would make Finn proud.

Rusty is DEFINITELY melty! That is the perfect word to describe him.
