Blog Tour: Tempest Unleashed by Tracy Deebs
I’m not a mermaid person. I won’t lie. But I genuinely enjoyed Tempest Rising by Tracy Deebs, and I’m excited to host her/her characters on my blog today! Check out this multi-character interview and don’t forget to enter to win a finished copy of Tempest Unleashed.

Amazon | Goodreads | Author Website | Author Twitter Tempest Maguire is happy with her decision to embrace her mermaid nature and live among her mother’s clan within the ocean’s depths. Even though training to one day ascend the throne for the aging mermaid queen is rigorous, she finds refuge in the arms of Kona, the selkie who first opened her up to her mermaid side. But when word comes that one of her brothers has been gravely injured on land, Tempest immediately rushes to his side—which also brings her back to her old flame, Mark. And in her absence, a deadly battle begins raging at the hands of Tempest’s old nemesis, the sea witch Tiamat. As the dangerous war erupts, Tempest’s two loves—Kona and Mark, sea and land—will collide for the first time, both to protect her and to force her to choose. – Goodreads
An interview with the characters of Tempest Unleashed
If you could change anything from your past, what would it be and why?
Mark: Not confronting Tempest about being a mermaid and letting her go without a fight. I did it because I thought it would make her happy, but now that I know her new life doesn’t make her happy, I would do anything to be with her again.
Tempest: Being too late to save my mother.
What are you most looking forward to that’s happening in the next few weeks?
Kona: Tempest’s coronation as merQueen. She’s going to be a kick-butt queen and I can’t wait to see what changes she makes once she’s on the throne.
Tempest: Going home to visit my dad and brothers. I miss them like crazy when I’m away.
Mark: Seeing Tempest again.
If you could have any kind of pet, what would be, and most importantly, what would you name it?
Tempest: I’m kind of partial to dolphins. I’d probably name her Summer.
Kona: I’m a selkie, so it’s kind of hard for me to imagine keeping another animal as a pet.
Mark: I’d love a big, sloppy Golden Retriever named Killer. Or Rex. Something manly.
What’s your favourite book?
Mark and Tempest: The Wave by Susan Casey. It’s an amazing look at just how awe-inspiring the ocean really is.
Describe yourself in three words.
Tempest: Human, Mermaid, Confused
Mark: Surfer, Desperate, Determined
Kona: Prince, Powerful, In Love

A year or two ago, I wondered if mermaids would be the next big trend in YA. While mermaids haven’t exploded like vampires did, I see that they’re still trickling!
