Top Ten Tuesday: Romances Out of the Pages

Each week, The Broke and Bookish host a Top Ten Tuesday based on a certain bookish topic. Other bloggers are able to participate and post their own top ten list based on the topic.

This week’s Top Ten Tuesday topic is couples that could survive in the real world – because we’re honoring Jamie’s wedding this week, YAY CONGRATS JAMIE.

Without further ado, here are my top literary couples that could make it out of their pages – in no particular order. And this might actually just be a list of my favourite literary couples in general, but c’est la vie.

The Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot

Look, Mia might be the princess of Genovia, but Michael makes all sorts of amazing medical discoveries to prove he’s worth of each other. Michael and Mia FOREVER. Screw the stupid movie sequel.

The Harry Potter Series by JK Rowling

Yes, Ron and Hermione. I think they’re perfect for each other, and even if they were stuck here in the muggle world, they’d still be perfect for each other.

The Lost Girl by Sangu Mandanna

I love couples that go through the ringer for each other and I think, even faced with circumstances that don’t involve life or death, Eva and Sean would still be together.

My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick

They kind of are in the real world already, aren’t they? HAHA. Also I just love them. I think they balance each other super well.

Meant to Be by Lauren Morrill

Doesn’t the title say it all?

Scarlet by A.C. Gaughen

LOVE. THEM. Rob is super strong and fierce and Scarlet is equally strong and fierce and they’re strong and fierce together, so I have a feeling, if they were faced with bills or whatever instead of bandits, they’d still be strong and fierce together.

Fixing Delilah by Sarah Ockler

I just love this couple. I can’t give any explanation for it – I just have strong feelings.

Wanderlove by Kirsten Hubbard

Talk about a couple that balances each other well. Yes, yes, they could survive out of the pages – reading the book almost feels like they already do.

Saving June by Hannah Harrington

Harper and Jake were one of my favourite literary couples of last year. I think the journey they take together is so real.

Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins

Anna and Etienne are basically meant to be. If they can’t survive in the real world, no one can.

  5. Yay for Ron and Hermione! I am so annoyed with myself that I didn’t even think of them when I was perusing my bookshelves for couples. In my defense there bookshelf isn’t even in my room but still! I also totally agree that Anna and Etienne would make it. <3

  9. ha! first, i love how you set this up. and second, yes to michael & mia. i have to say… i have a love hate relationship with the sequel bc i think her chemistry with chris pine is what YA books are made of but… THAT WAS IT? SHE LOVED HIM FOR SO LONG.

Also, I see many people mentioning Anna & St. Clair and I’m only commenting on it here… I think they had the goods to keep their relationship long term for sure. Great, diverse list!

  20. OH! Bria and Rowan would definitely survive in the real world – I can see them traveling all over the world together.

And I totally think Anna and St. Clair are hopping from California to Paris all the time, together, and thriving and happy ;)

  21. Ron and Hermione forever!

I kind of shipped Scarlet with Little John. Ahhhhh! I often choose the doomed part of the love triangle, because I’m stubborn like that. *headdesk*
