Top Ten Tuesday: Bookish People I Must Meet

Each week, The Broke and Bookish host a Top Ten Tuesday based on a certain bookish topic. Other bloggers are able to participate and post their own top ten list based on the topic.

This week’s Top Ten Tuesday topic is Bookish People I Must Meet. It would have been so easy to just do a billion authors or a billion bloggers, but I did kind of a mix!

Without further adieu!

1) Lisa from Lisa is Busy Nerding

Hello, I love Lisa. She is AMAZING and has an awesome voice (I know it’s creepy but I LOVE her rare-but-awesome vlogs) and someday, somehow, there will be some event that puts us in the general vicinity of each other and we can nerd out together. Someday…

2) Jen from Makeshift Bookmark

I feel like a huge chunk of my blogger friends have met Jen and I know I am totally missing out! I’m sure we would just sit around and talk about our cats’ various ailments, but I know it would be a blast.

3) Amy from Tripping Over Books

Okay, YES, I have already met Amy, at BEA this past June (or was it May…?) but she was only in the city for ONE DAY and I tracked her down at Sarah J. Maas’ line and then we barely saw each other and it was le sad. So I would love to hang out with Amy for more than an hour total, please and thank you!

4) JK Rowling

Obligatory, and duh.

5) Tamora Pierce

I think I’ve told a few people that it is my life goal to meet Tamora Pierce and I totally stick to that! It will happen!

6) Stephanie Perkins

FANGIRL YES. And I will get to meet her at YALLFest this year, hurrah!

7) Victoria Schwab

I freaking love her books and I have been to several events she was at and just…missed out on meeting her and getting my books signed. OH MY GOD AWKWARD I already met her. WOW I just had a moment. I was standing in a Penguin line at BEA this year and she was in line next to me and I might have fangirled. But…okay. Moving on. THE LIST STANDS AS IS. I have not had my books signed (in person) by her, so. You know. (This is why I took business cards from practically every person I met at BEA because I am legit the worst at remembering things.)

8) Cate Tiernan

Love her books SO MUCH. I read the Sweep series a billion and twelve times when I was younger and I still reread them and I can’t wait to meet her at YALLFest this year to get them all signed!

9) Sarah Ockler

Fangirl sigh. Her books make me feel all the emotions. Love love love.

10) Louise Rennison

HILARIOUS. Again, I’ve read her books a billion and twelve times and I was really hoping I’d get to meet her while I was living in England, but she didn’t do any events until I moved back to Florida. SAD FACE.

  15. I like Lisa’s voice too! Whenever I read anything she’s written, it sounds like her voice in my head. Did I just make myself sound completely creeptastic? Cause I probably just did.

  17. Yep, JK Rowling is sort of obligatory– I listed her, too. I haven’t read any of Cate Tiernan’s books in ages, but oh they were so fantastic! The Sweep series was absolutely addictive– I don’t think I ever finished the last few, so maybe I’ll buy some of the those gorgeous new Sweep omnibuses. :)
