Waiting on Wednesday: How My Summer Went Up in Flames

Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Breaking the Spine. It’s a weekly meme that allows bloggers to talk about what upcoming book they’re most looking forward to read :)

Oh, I’m sorry, does How My Summer Went Up in Flames come out in May 2013? It does? I’m teasing you? I’M TEASING MYSELF. I need this book in my life RIGHT NOW. This cover just got revealed and I hadn’t heard of How My Summer Went Up in Flames but then I saw the cover and I saw the summary on Goodreads and it sounds SO FREAKING GOOD. SO GOOD. I have a feeling that How My Summer Went Up in Flames is going to make my most anticipated of 2013 list.

How My Summer Went Up in Flames by Jennifer Salvato Doktorski – 05/07/2013

How My Summer Went Up in Flames by Jennifer Salvato Doktorski

Rosie’s always been impulsive. She didn’t intend to set her cheating ex-boyfriend’s car on fire. And she never thought her attempts to make amends could be considered stalking. So when she’s served with a temporary restraining order on the first day of summer vacation, she’s heartbroken—and furious.

To put distance between Rosie and her ex, Rosie’s parents send her on a cross-country road trip with responsible, reliable neighbor Matty and his two friends. Forget freedom of the road, Rosie just wants to hitchhike home and win back her ex. But with every mile marker that passes, Rosie discovers a new sense of self…and that sometimes the best revenge is moving on.

  3. I don’t know what it is about road trips but they get to me every time.

Any time I see a girl standing next to a car on a book cover, I automatically have to go verify it’s about a road trip and then it’s on my to-read list.

    It’s a sickness really.

Thanks for sharing. I hadn’t heard of this one yet.

  6. BAHAHA. OMG. I was all ‘this looks like your average contemp.’ THEN I READ THE BLURB. “She didn’t intend to set her cheating ex-boyfriend’s car on fire.” Ummm, how hilarious is that? Then I realized she was holding a gas can on the cover and this just became the best EVER.

    Adding to GR right now.

  14. I don’t read this sort of book very often, but I really like the cover (and I’m not even sure why) and the premise of a crazy stalker girl sounds really interesting.
