Extra DAC Deets

Alright! Here are some extra details and lists and groups and such that will help you on your quest to read all the debuts! Or what have you.

First of all, it’s fairly easy to figure out if a book is a debut. If you’ve checked the author’s goodreads page, checked their website, etc, and you can’t find any other middle grade/young adult books, it counts as a debut. Oh, and if it comes out in 2013. That’s important.

BUT. If you’re looking all over the place and you’re really not sure, don’t panic. Just tweet me (@hobbitsies) or e-mail me (dacsubmissions@gmail.com). I will help you!

Here are some other resources:

Goodreads

Lots of things on Goodreads this year! Obviously, we have the official Listopia list. This list is awesome, but also kind of sketchy because all kinds of random people can go in and add titles willy nilly. So take it with a grain of salt.

We’ve also got the snazzy official Goodreads Group. This year we’re going to utilize it way more. There are going to be discussions, polls, not to mention exclusive challenges and prizes for group members only. Plus I’ve added all the debuts (that I know of thus far) to the group bookshelf and this is not a sketchy list, so make sure to check out the group! It will be fun.

Debut Lists

We’re doing the spreadsheets of debuts this year as well! You can view the printable spreadsheet here.

I will be maintaining the US one, along with the fabulous Amy of Tripping Over Books. She rocks. If you’ve found a title that you think fits the list but isn’t on the spreadsheet, please e-mail me at dacsubmissions@gmail.com.

Unfortunately I do not have nearly enough time on my hands to set up lists for the UK, Australia, etc and then keep them updated, so if you are interested in being the official list keeper for another country, please e-mail me at dacsubmissions@gmail.com. I would love to find someone that is going to keep on it all year!

Note: We do have more lists coming soon! Be on the look out for a UK spreadsheet and more!

Debut Author ARC Tours

Lisa of Lisa is Busy Nerding has decided to take on the challenge of maintaining the DAC ARC Tours next year! She’s bringing on some fabulous new help as well! I’ll be updating this spot with who those people are, but I want her to tell you all first!

It’s going to run mostly like last year, but there will be a few rule changes and what not. So be sure to keep an eye on the blog!

If you are planning to sign up for tours on the DAC tour site, it is important to have one of the Debut Author Challenge buttons in plain view on your blog. It makes it so much easier for the folks running the tour!

Newsletter

The newsletter will continue! It’ll go out monthly with release dates, exclusive interviews and goodies, cover reveals, prizes, and more!

Giveaways

We’ll be bringing back monthly prize packs this year! Just because, honestly, I love goodies and seeing all the reviews you guys have done over the month, so it’s sort of a win-win, I think!

In order to enter to win one of the monthly prize packs, you will need to submit links to your reviews of debuts posted in that month. For the February prize pack, there will be a link-up for you to submit all the reviews you posted of 2013 debuts in that month. Each review is equal to one entry, so the more you read and the review, the better chance you have to win.

In order to enter to win the grand prize at the end of the challenge, you must read and review at least 12 or more 2013 debuts. There will be a link up for you to submit a link to your list of reviewed debuts.

There will also be several more specific, shorter challenges throughout the year involving reading an e-book, a contemporary, paranormal, etc. Further details to come on those!

Prize packs will contain finished copies, ARCs, swags, and other goodies! No prize pack will the same.

Miscellaneous

I’m sure there are little bits and pieces I’m missing! If you have any questions or feel like I didn’t cover something well, please tweet me (@hobbitsies) or e-mail me (dacsubmissions@gmail.com). I’ll be happy to answer any questions you might have, and eventually I’ll set up a FAQ!

  1. I have a question. So for each month does the review of the book have to be a book published that month or does it not matter?
