Debut Author Challenge – Mini-Challenge #1

It’s time for the first mini-challenge for the 2013 Debut Author Challenge! Mini-challenges will be a once-a-monthish occurrence.

They’ll be themed differently – one challenge might be to read a contemporary, one challenge might be to read a middle grade, etc. And at the end of the challenge, I’ll randomly pick one person who completed it to give away an order/pre-order of a 2013 debut of their choice (and some swag). No review link necessary for the mini-challenges – all you need to do is read a debut that fits the challenge!

This month’s mini-challenge is to read a debut outside of your comfort zone. You can interpret this any way you please – I’m going by the honor code on this! For example, I’ll be reading Hooked by Liz Fichera this month. I love contemporary YA, but romance as a major storyline is not usually my cup of tea. But I’ve heard great things, so I’m going to read it for sure!

To complete the challenge, fill out the Rafflecopter below with the title of the book you read this month by January 31! That’s it.

Rules
Must be participating in the 2013 Debut Author Challenge
Prize packs are international
Must read a book that fits the challenge theme within the month
Winner has 48 hours to answer my e-mail

If Rafflecopter is not working, please comment with the book you read. I’ll make sure it goes in as an entry whenever Rafflecopter decides to start working again.

  1. I love this idea! Starting the year off right by growing beyond what we are comfortable with is a fabs idea. Kudos!

  2. Thanks of signing up for the SARC, Tara! I’m currently reading HOOKED and I really like it. Not that far into it, but immediately I love the main character, Fred.

  5. Wow, this worked perfectly with my first DAC pick! I just finished Level 2 by Lenore Appelhans, which was waaaay put of my comfort zone. I stay away from more things with the afterlife, angels, fallen angels, and love triangles, and this had all of them.
