My Favourites Shelf
I have lots of books. Lots and lots of books. Hardcover, paperback, ARCs, etcs. I even have a few manuscripts lying around. Most of these books are on bookshelves, but others are kind of just hanging out in stacks waiting to be shelved or read.
But only a few books are on what I like to call my favourites shelf. I needed a tall TV cabinet in my bedroom because my bed is so freaking tall. That totally worked to my benefit because it gave me an excuse to buy a bookshelf!
There are a few books missing from this shelf because they’re over at my parents’ house and I’m lazy. But I need to grab them to complete my shelf!
The ones missing are -
The Girl of Fire and Thorns by Rae Carson
The Cadet of Tildor by Alex Lidell
The Archived by Victoria Schwab
Shut Out by Kody Keplinger
A Midsummer’s Nightmare by Kody Keplinger
Bloodlines by Richelle Mead (a friend was actually borrowing this…and lost it!)
The Indigo Spell by Richelle Mead
Awkward by Marni Bates
City of a Thousand Dolls by Miriam Forster

Like I said, only a limited amount of books fit on the shelf! I don’t know what I’m going to do – guess I need to get a second favourites shelf. After all, I need to add all the books ever by Ally Carter! Oh, and how are Rachel Hawkins’ books not on my shelf? And I just know more favourites will come along as I read more books.
What about you guys? Do you have a shelf in your house dedicated to showing off your favourite books?
The books on the top left – and a few got cut off in the picture – are some of the print books I’ve been working on as a publicist with Entangled Publishing.

Love that Awkward and Bittersweet are included since those are my next two reads! Wait is that the Sweep series at the bottom? I think probably 99% of these are in line with my favourites :)

Yes, I own a favorites shelf. But it’s right by Tony’s desk and so his things are on it — like his Brooklyn Nets hat and some glass from his major and a flashlight. BUT on that shelf are my Harry Potter books, the Dark Tower series, To Kill A Mockingbird, The Phantom Tollbooth and basically all of my favoritest books of all time.

Look at all these gems! I definitely have a favorites shelf. Well, it’s kind of two shelves in one bookcase, and since I have so many books that my shelves are two layers deep, my favorite favorites are on the outside, usually by author, so all of my Maggie Stiefvaters, all my Jennifer Echols, Marissa Meyer, Kristin Cashore, The Sky Is Everywhere, etc. Yay favorites!!

I’m always impressed by blogger bookshelves! I have a a very small favorites shelf in my very small apartment. I guess working at a library and embracing my Kindle and giving away ARCs means I save space! Your books are beautifully displayed.

Oh man, that shelf is so shiny! & from what I see, you’ve got a ton of fantastic books on it (also, thank you, shelf, for reminding me to go and request Cinder & Scarlet from my library!)
I actually don’t have a favorites shelf. We’ve got bookshelves lining the living room and I’ve got a small shelf in my office with books overflowing onto the floor + windowsills. I actively do not limit my favorites to one tiny section and instead leave them scattered amongst the shelves. Whenever I go to choose a book to read I always wind up rediscovering a book I bought ages ago and still haven’t read, whereas if my favs were in one tiny group, I’d rarely look at the others.

Oooh what a beautiful shelf!!! I have my shelves sorted by ARCs, books I’ve read, and books I need to read (then sorted by paperback vs hardcover). It doesn’t look like it makes sense to other people, but it does to me! :)

I have like a favourites “shelf” (emphasize the singular here) haha. I LOVE the Immortal Beloved series too! They’re not very well-known, but they’re SO good! This is awesome!

So pretty! I love seeing shelves all organized and featuring so many books that I’ve read and loved myself.
Things I’ve realized from looking at your shelf:
- I need to read the Vampire Academy series eventually, especially since the movie’s happening.
- I need to finish the Unearthly series. I have no excuse since I have them all.
- Ditto on the Firelight series. I have the second book…
- Also, there’s the fact that I have not yet read Mara Dyer…
