Review Policy

If you’re interested in contacting me to review a book or host an author for an interview or guest post, please contact me at taratgonzalez@gmail.com or tara@hobbitsies.net.

I try to respond to all e-mails that fall within my review policy, but sometimes I am unable. I apologize for this and I hope to do better in the future.

I’ve tried to make everything clear, but if you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me.

Reviewing

I review mainly young adult books of all genres. My favourites are contemporary and historical fiction, although I will read any genre.

I am recently starting to read middle grade – especially fantasy and contemporary and will consider middle grade pitches.

I am also starting to review audiobooks of YA and MG books.

I do not review nonfiction or self-published books. I’m sorry.

Accepting

I am currently accepting ARCs, e-galleys, finished copies, and audiobooks. I prefer physical books at this time, but they are not necessary.

What and Where

I post my reviews on several sites. I post reviews on my blog (usually within 1-2 weeks of publication date), on Amazon, and on Goodreads almost immediately. I also go through every few weeks and transfer my reviews to other sites like Shelfari, LibraryThing, Barnes and Noble, and Random Buzzers.

With each review I post, I always include several elements – cover, synopsis (from Goodreads or Amazon, or an official site), publication information, links to view the book on Goodreads, Amazon, and Indie Bound, as well as links to other reviews, and my honest opinion on the book.

I will always state my own opinion. I don’t like writing negative reviews but I won’t compromise my integrity in order to avoid it. I won’t write a review for a book I don’t finish.

Promotional Posts

I am also willing to help promote a book with author interviews, guest posts, blog tours, giveaways, etc.

Stats

As of August 09, 2012: I have now been blogging for nearly two years and I’ve been able to maintain a steady following of 900 feed subscribers with another 130 following via Networked Blogs and 290 likes on Facebook, as well as over 1,590 twitter followers. I average 7,000-8,000 unique visitors a month, with 300-400 page views a day.
